This project is a voluntary response by the business community to the challenges that recession brings for small business across the country. We have assembled a panel of people, with significant business experience, who are volunteering their time to give practical advice to small businesses. Your business can benefit from tapping into this pool of knowledge by applying for an advice meeting through this site.

Plato Ireland was invited to speak at the recent STEP seminar in Dublin's Merrion Hotel.
Over the past 15 years Plato has actively facilitated many indigenous family-owned and family-run Irish businesses to deal with the sensitive issues of succession, legacy and continuity. Whilst the legal and financial frameworks of transference are clearly defined in law and tax, it is the softer and human behaviour matters with which Plato is more familiar.
The theme of the event was "The Role of the Trusted Advisor".
Plato, together with National College of Ireland, will be offering a new Family Business Mentor Programme - Fetal Level 6 for legal and financial advisors in the near future.

The Cork Harbour Tourism Economic Development Forum is an over arching strategic group representing all of the key stakeholders, both public and private.
The Titanic 2012 Commemoration is one of the central themes of the group's focus.
A major submission on behalf of the group to the "Your Country, Your Call" initiative is just one of the positive outcomes of the process to date.
The group is strongly focused on supporting each stakeholder organisation on delivering mutually beneficial objectives.
Other tourist hubs within the soutwest region have requested Plato's support in creating similar forums. At least one other significant initiative will launch during 2010. |

| Plato / FAS Excellence Through People Programme |
2010 |
|
|
Description |
Presenter |
|
As we all know the trading environment has somewhat changed over the past 9/12 months and there is an ever increasing need to manage costs and all resources more effectively.
In order to manage the emerging challenges one needs to ensure that everyone in the business knows what they need to do and how their individual performance directly impacts on the business performance (ie that everyone knows the plan and there part in it).
In industry this is known as a High Performance Work Group – where individual objectives are fully aligned with the business objectives. When such a system is introduced the performance of the business increases substantially. Considering the changing times and the need for better efficiency Plato in association with FAS is introducing the HPWG concept into a select number of companies.
We see great merit in this initiative, particularly in light of current circumstances. This is all about increasing internal efficiency at no extra cost and no external investment.
The programme is called the ETP Programme (Excellence Through People) and is a national certified standard. Plato will provide all of the advice and documentation to enable you to achieve such a position.
If you are interested in this initiative, please let us know. |
