Plato Louth Newry & Mourne are currently awaiting word on the next round of funding. The Plato office is still housed at the Louth County Enterprise Board and we are still continuing to offer support to our companies. The board of PLATO Louth Newry & Mourne would like to take this opportunity to thank the SEUPB and in particular our administering body Cooperation Ireland for their support throughout the last 14 years and the Louth County Enterprise Board & the Newry and Mourne Enterprise Agency for their continued support and assistance.

The 'Plato Gold' SME Leadership Forum has just had their second monthly meeting. With a great mix of companies and personalities the positive energy is palpable and most enjoyable for all.

Our involvement with EMPASIA EU Funded project continues. Una had a wonderful opportunity to train potential PLATO Regional Managers in Thailand and Vietnam last year and now there are two PLATO groups in Bangkok and two in Vietnam. We have made some wonderful contacts in both countries and some of the companies have expressed an interest in making connections with European countries - If any of you have interests in either country just let me know and we may be able to help with your requests, una.curley@plato.ie

Closing the Sale
We had a full house at the recent 'Closing the Sale' workshop with Terry Harmer a most enjoyable day with a strong message.

Plato 2 Day Credit Management Course (FAS Subsidised)
Plato in conjunction with a company called Export Edge will run a Credit Management Course over 2 days - the 20th and 27th November.

The course benefits from 75% FAS funding for each eligible participant.  The course fee is €189, giving a saving of €567 off the full fee of €756.  Plato members will benefit from this important course, which will help them focus on improvement in their Customer Receipts and Cash Flows, plus deal with difficult customer accounts.

This course is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management, (ILM, who offer accreditation in 35 countries).  On successful completion, the ILM will award participants with a Certificate in Credit Management.  This course is for a maximum of 10 participants.

Principal's Profile
Irina Minzar is a qualified as a journalist in 1992 from the University of St Petersburg. She is also a member of the International Federation of Journalists and was for 5 years Chief Editor of a regional newspaper in Murmansk. She was also Chief Editor of a local tv and radio station for 3 years. More recently she has been an Image Maker for a construction company and an electrical company which involved press releases and PR work.

She is studying at the University of Ulster through Southern College Newry and is available to work for about 20 hours a week. Irina has been coming to Ireland for 5 years so she has a good working knowledge of English as well as business. She has worked on several projects here including translating brochures into Russian, interpreting at business meetings in both Ireland and Russia and advising companies on business trips to Russia and the cultural diversities. She has excellent references in all respects.
